Pesonal Computers Part One July 1, 2011
I have come to love my PC. Not all the time but when I can get it to do what I wanted it to do. This was not always the case. When PCs first came on the scene in the mid 1980's I was not as enamored by them with only one exception. As I was employed as a grade five teacher in the mid eighties I came across a piece of software called Cross Country Canada This software was very cool and was a fun way for my students to learn about Canada. I could somewhat see how PCs might be a valuable adjunct to traditional teaching strategies. The problem was that I feared that I was not smart enough to learn how a computer operates.
As the years went by it became more apparent that computers were here to stay especially in the world of work. I could see that if I did not learn some computer basics I would be at a great disadvantage on my job. As my wife was starting to get interested in computers also we decided to go ahead and purchase our first personal computer.
