What's
Been Happening?
Well, I've
been kind of down in the dumps the last couple of weeks. Fall has now
arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. This means the dog park season
is just about over. I have taken my two dogs to the dog park the last
couple of days but it is getting pretty cold out there. The wind has
been high and there's no houses or buildings to break the wind. This
often means it won't be too long until snow is back with us. My dogs
need their exercise and it's about the only thing that keeps me sane.
On days when we don't get to the dog park the dogs drive me up the
wall. They now feel that they are fully entitled to their daily trip
to the dog park. During the winter this is going to be tough.
Last week my
mountain bike got stolen. This always brings me down. It's a funny
thing. I have owned several bikes in my life that none of them has
ever broken down. They have all been stolen before this could happen.
Having a bike has always meant something to me. I wish that the
thieves would have had a bit of a conscience. A bike can be a very
personal thing as well as a means of transportation. For me it is
also one of my main sources of exercise. I've even been known to ride
my bike in the wintertime. Well, I've already checked out my local
bike shop. I already see the bike that I want as a replacement. The
problem now is getting the money for it. I'm not one who believes in
buying cheap bikes. Cheap bikes are not worth it in the long run. A
good bike will give the writer a lot more enjoyment.
I have been
listening to a lot of music during the last two weeks. I have
discovered some new artists. When grunge was popular in the 90s the
only band that I was really familiar with was Nirvana. Yes, I had
heard of bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. It
has only been recently that I have been giving a serious listen to
Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. I have been especially
enjoying to songs by Soundgarden, Spoonman and Rusty Cage. Alice in
chains has impressed me with their songs Rooster and No Excuses. As
for Pearl Jam, I would have to go with their song called Alive.
On the
sporting front I have started watching hockey again. This is because
Winnipeg has gotten their professional hockey team back. The Winnipeg
Jets are back for the first time in fifteen years. The fans in
Winnipeg have missed their Winnipeg Jets so much that it does not
bother them that they have lost their first three games.
