Tabs and Riffs
This
afternoon after practicing some pentatonic scales on guitar I decided
to try playing the main riffs from Spoonman by Soundgarden and Money
For Nothing by Dire Straits. It never ceases to amaze me that what
appears to fairly easy to play when you have the tablature in front
of you is very hard to get right. I find that I have to go over the
riffs very slowly and practice them over and over trying to get them
to sound right. It also requires real concentration when listening to
the recorded versions of the songs. There's a lot more to it than
meets the eye.
