Free Time

One of the things that bugged me most about working was the tremendous amount of energy it took. I wouldn't have minded working as much if I could come home with as much energy as I left with. To be honest ,on a lot of days I didn't have that much energy when I left home. I don't understand people who ask me if I'm bored now that I'm temporarily retired. Sometimes people ask me if I think I need the structure that work provides. I usually give these people a deer in the headlights look. I guess I'm lucky that I've had hobbies all of my life even when I had to work long hours. I have always loved learning new things, That's probably why I became a teacher. even in retirement I usually cannot do justice to all my hobbies and past times in a single day. I could probably spend the majority of my waking hours just reading books. Of course, I would need a break from reading once in awhile to preserve my eyes.
