A Day in the Life of Ken David Stewart June 30, 2011

This afternoon the temperature was in the thirties. Most health professionals would not advise going for a long bike ride in this type of heat. Unfortunately, I am not the kind to pay attention to experts. Therefore, I went out for a two hour bike ride. Why would I engage in such an activity in all this heat and humidity? There are a couple of reasons. One is obviously not a great deal of concern about my own well being The other explanation is that I have an intense faith that God is always watching over me no matter what the circumstances look like. While a few might applaud my personal faith others would point out my lack of common sense. My other motivation was my extreme love of books. Sometimes I simply refuse to wait another day to pick up my library holds. Incidentally, Martha had the car during the day time so that my only means of transportation to two different library branches was by bike. Among my other motivations was my desire to prove that i could still ride a bicycle in this weather in spite of my age and obesity. As it turned out God came through for me. I arrived home hot, tired and thirsty but with my library books in tow.
